It's just not the same not having Isiah to kick around anymore, but Knicks fans are still stuck with James Dolan as owner of the Knicks. What type of gutless puke hires Donnie Walsh to do his dirty work? Dolan hired Isiah and should have been man enough to fire Isiah. Is the concept of accountability foreign to James Dolan?
Isiah has been reassigned within the organization by Donnie Walsh, but apparently Zeke still enjoys the respect of James Dolan. If that is an accurate representation of the dynamics within Madison Square Garden, Walsh has walked into a den of vipers There are already reports of media leaks, within the Knicks organization, that have started to splat mud on Donnie Walsh's reputation. Madison Square Garden's hierarchy makes the Iraq Ruling Council look like a Kiwanis Club.
Frank Isola had an excellent piece in yesterday's New York Daily News:
Isiah Thomas is not fired, just banned
I'm not sure what to take away from Walsh's reaction to the mention of Jeff Van Gundy in Isola's article, but Van Gundy did bail on the Knicks. I'm not saying he was wrong to flee, but something tells me Dolan is perhaps not too fond of Jeff Van Gundy.
Van Gundy, Mark Jackson and Mike Breen make up the NBA's best broadcasting team.
It appears Mark Jackson could be named the new coach of the New York Knickerbockers. Jackson's media experience would be invaluable in dealing with the Big Apple's press corps. Jackson knows the city, understands the role of the media and knows the game. If Jackson does get the Knicks job, he will join Chris Mullin as former Redmen with considerable clout in the NBA. Will either one of them wear a Lou Carnesecca sweater to a possible Warriors - Knicks game at MSG?

Larry Brown has been mentioned as a replacement to George Karl in Denver. Brown and Iverson reunited - how long would that last? Brown would have to introduce the concept of defense to AI and Carmelo.
In Game 1, I thought the Lakers were doing a layup drill against the Nuggets. Jeff Van Gundy thought the Lakers would have more difficulty against dummy defenses in practice than what the Nuggets were offering as resistance.
I saw Reggie Theus doing studio work on ESPN. I can't believe Theus is coach of the Kings. Theus never won a thing in the NBA, never saw a shot he didn't like, and did the guy ever play defense? The Maloof brothers have made some terrible basketball decisions in recent years.
If you didn't see the end of the Suns - Spurs Game 1 on Saturday, you missed a high holy day of basketball. Nash drains a step back three from the corner and then Ginobili wins the game with a heroic drive to the hole. It doesn't get any better than that.
Shaq wants the flopping to stop. I don't have an issue with flopping. Years back, refs didn't seem to have an issue when Shaq dropped his shoulder into a defender's chest.
LeBron's back seems to be bothering him. I wish my back was bothering me like that. LeBron is going to punish the Wizards. If I were Soulja Boy, I would respectfully decline DeShawn Stevenson's offer of courtside seats in Washington.

LeBron's monster jam in Game 1 made me believe David Thompson had invaded his body.
Agent Zero's outrageously deep three ball in Game 1 was something out of the ABA. Arenas was dreadful in Game 2. He is not ready for prime time, but the man is showing a lot of heart.
New Orleans' David West was bitch slapping Dirk Nowitzki in Game 1. Someone on the Mavericks needs to do a Rick Mahorn imitation and jackhammer someone on the Hornets. Jackhammer!
Is Nowitzki the new Piazza?
Riddle me this. How can the Sixers trade Kyle Korver for practically nothing in return? Korver can shoot the rock and Jerry Sloan doesn't need to be told that. Korver does struggle on defense, but the guy has unbelievable range. The Sixers received Gordon Giricek, who they promptly released and is now a member of the Suns, and a protected first-round draft pick. Korver is a nice addition to the Jazz.
Hawks vs. Celtics - Harlem Globetrotter games are more exciting.
