After reading a description of the night, anyone who has been to a college bar or party should get the picture. Meathead wants girl, girl rejects meathead, meathead does not accept rejection. Gee, I've never seen that happen before.

I'm sure large amounts of alcohol did play a role in Smith's behavior, but the decision of Smith to hit on the roommate of someone he "dated" was the dumbest of the night. Does that ever turn out well? If you've been to The Kells or a college bar similar to it, Smith couldn't find another woman interested in a Boston College football player?

I'm sure there is a lot more to this story, but if the facts remain the same Brady Smith is in a world of trouble. The Boston Globe's photo of Smith really doesn't help his cause.

After Brady Smith's arraignment, Boston College announced that Smith was permanently dismissed from the team and had been suspended from classes.

Interesting comments from Smith's attorney Philip Tracy.

"I can't comment on the facts in this case except the facts will be in dispute," Tracy said. "The versions are totally different. We're going to investigate the use of alcohol by all parties involved. That's the trigger that often causes problems like this."

It sounds like the alleged victim and Brady Smith will be on the stand.

Great follow-up by Roch Kubatko of the Baltimore Sun. The Boston Globe chose to ignore Smith's dismissal from the team and suspensio from classes and the Boston Herald ran a story from the Associated Press. The Baltimore Sun has outreported both The Boston Globe and The Boston Herald on a local story. That is so incredibly weak.
