Is Fort Apache the Bronx required viewing in the Philadelphia police department? Don't these guys know enough to wait until they get the perps into the station house and then tune them up? I've watched enough cop shows on tv to know that.

From Wendy Ruderman of the Philadelphia Daily News:

Ramsey said that the latest incident occurred after a team of narcotics officers with the 25th Police District in North Philadelphia witnessed a triple shooting during a drug surveillance at 4th and Ansberry streets. The officers were hoping to arrest drug suspects and question them about the slaying of Andrew Coach on Sunday, Ramsey said.

Police watched as four men got out of a gold Mercury Grand Marquis and walked to the corner. One of them then fired upon three other men standing on the corner. The man who fired took off running and his three companions got back in the Grand Marquis and drove off, with police in pursuit, Ramsey said.

At first, I thought Ed Rendell had given the order to give a beat down to Obama supporters, but I was clearly wrong about that. This is some old school Frank Rizzo justice.

You can't completely tell from the video, but are there any African-American police officers in Philadelphia? As for the person who titled the video, "Philadelphia Police beat three INNOCENT young BLACK men!!!!!", I don't believe being involved in a shooting qualifies you as being innocent unless your name is Marvin Harrison.

Dave,
If your going to justifiably blast the Phila POlice for being overzealous, you should also point out that a Phila Police officer was shot and killed three days earlier by an AK-47 assault rifle while responding to a bank robbery. Theses guys have a tough job. Direct your criticism at the CRIMINALS at the NRA who defy reason and rationale in their unwavering defense of gun owner's rights. I would pay to see an NRA honcho get a beat down like the one these three punks got.

If you had clicked on the hypertext, it gives the full background on the incident and the murder of the Philly cop preceding the incident in the video.

My only criticism of the cops was to wait until the alleged perps were in the station house and then knock some skulls. I understand why they were taking no chances after a cop was killed.

You need to click on the hypertext. That's why I add them.

The Phillies Suck and Donovan is hurt again.
