Does anyone else miss Yo! MTV Raps? Someone should hire Doctor Dre, Ed Lover and Fab 5 Freddy to give their takes on what is going down in 2008. How about Fox News adding some diversity to its core of commentators?

Is the Ed Lover Dance extinct or can we pull it from the archives? Where else could you witness Tupac shooting off his mouth that he beat down the producers of Menace II Society earning him 15 days in jail. Now, that is reality tv.

I'd love to see Yo! MTV Raps handle some of today's hot topics:

Are Tiger Woods and Barack Obama black enough or are they too white? Has Oprah become white?

Why has major league baseball become the private playground of Caucasians and Latinos? If you watched the College Baseball World Series, did you see anyone that wasn't white?

Why was Brett Favre revered in Green Bay and Donovan McNabb is jeered in Philadelphia? (I'd like to tell Donovan it has something to do with winning a ring, but who am I to talk.)

Let's not start with comments on the City of Brotherly Love, because I'll get a missive from the City of Philadelphia's Ambassador of Goodwill, Duff. Not that Duff actually lives in the city, but he speaks for the good folks of Philly.

Someone needs to ask LeBron where he wants to live in New York, when he joins the Nets in 2010, making the New York Knickerbockers irrelevant.

The New York Knicks selected Italian Danilo Gallinari with the six pick in the NBA Draft. Yo! MTV Raps' investigative unit wants to know if former New York State Governor Mario Cuomo used his "family connections" to unduly influence Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni.

Why hasn't anyone suggested Denzel Washington would make a good Vice President. Ronald Reagan, Fred Thompson and Arnold Schwarzenegger all found success in the political arena as Republicans. Why not Denzel as a Democrat? Charles Barkley in 2016?

Baron Davis wants to play for the Los Angeles Clippers and produce movies. Someone needs to ask Baron if winning basketball games is important to him.

What are the Huxtables up to these days?

Is Jay-Z's American Gangster a great piece of American music or have I been hitting the glass pipe?

I'd like to see Giants defensive end Osi Umeniyiora bring the Ed Lover Dance to the NFL. Drop Romo for a loss and bust out the Ed Lover Dance which would make New York football fans forget Mark Gastineau's Sack Dance.

I'm starting to hear DJ Mark the 45 King's The 900 Number, which has got me doing the Ed Lover Dance.

What makes one "white", or alternatively, "too white"? I would say they are definitely "monied" and it shows. McNabb's problem in Philly is definitely his skin. Not the color of it, rather the thickness. He's too much of a tender flower to be fully embraced in Philly. This town is DYING for a winner (particularly the Superbowl variety) and they want their players to be dying for it too. McNabb doesn't SHOW enough fire; whether he HAS that fire is another debate (ref Drew Bledsoe). Favre would kill himself to win, and Philly would have embraced him as their own . . . until he threw yet another killer INT.

Dr Huxtable is being skwered for telling men of his own racial ilk that they have to be men and not boys. They need more Dr H's and fewer Reverend S's and J's.

"Hitting the glass pipe" . . . using this reference in a musing mostly about race/ethnicity is just not cool. Bigot.

Thompson and Blackplowman were and are, respectively, political frauds. Brings up a good point though, why do we not see more Dem actors run for office (Is unfunnyman Al Franken the best they can do?); it is certainly not for lack of acting Dems. It may be most are too far left to be viable in an election, or just that life is too good for them as is to make less money and live in shittier weather.

I have no idea what makes anyone too white, but that phrase seems to be thrown at successful and what are perceived to be bourgeois African-Americans.

The Huxtables was a throw away line - there was no meaning to it. I'm not sure how I skewered Dr. Huxtable.

"Hitting the glass pipe" - I'm bigoted for using that phrase but using "family connections" and Mario Cuomo is not bigoted? Some Italian-Americans and I'm sure Mario Cuomo would be incensed at that use of "family connections". Some Italian-Americans refuse to watch The Sopranos because of the way Italian-Americans are portrayed on the show. Did David Chase employ bigotry when he wrote The Sopranos?

If I had written swiggin' on a bottle of Thunderbird that's also bigoted. If you listen to Jay-Z's American Gangster he details the role of the crack epidemic. Hell, the movie is based on Frank Lucas who brought the drug trade into the streets. This isn't being bigoted - I'm using facts. Save me the politically correct crap.

And if you're writing I'm a bigot because I employed "hittin the glass pipe" as an amusing use of the English language, then a lot of comedians are bigots. Unfortunately, "hittin the glass pipe" is part of our cultural lexicon - I didn't make up the phrase. If I had written crackhead rather than "hittin' the glass pipe", does that make me less of a bigot?

Yipes, the glass pipe line was also a throw-away line. I recall when you used to have a sense of humor.

I didn't imply that you personally skewered Dr H, in fact it is the A-A community who is. They don't like what he has to say, even if he's dead on.

So take a pill, or a tug on the pipe.
