I have enough evidence to convict that librarian of being a Weapon of Mass Obstruction. With the homely coat and the homelier visage, people were afraid to go past her and into the meeting. Reminds me of the Erma Ballbricker character from Porky's.

I liked the Pee's-in-a-Pod costume, but am wondering whether by showing his own face, the guy in the costume was also associating himself with both Bush and McCain.

Does McCain=Bush make sense? The librarian asks how any Republican could find such a formulation offensive. I can think of two Republicans who could: Bush and McCain. No love lost there. But of course all Republicans are the same, right? ie money-grubbing, speech-oppressing, war-mongering, tight-ass whities.

Following Dave's Obama = Carter formulation, I would suggest a more accurate formulation to be McCain = Ford. Like Ford, McCain really isn't setting his party on fire with enthusiasm.

As for Republicans crushing liberty and free speech in Denver, I wouldn't be too worried. Denver will remain one of America's premiere liberal bastions (along with SF, Seattle, Boston, NYC etc) even when McCain is in town. Look at all of the jack-booted, heartless Republicans in line waiting to get in. How many were there? 10? 20?

The police officer is very polite and now he has thousands of folks watching him on YouTube. Do I smell reality show?

It did look like an energized crowd waiting for McCain to speak.
